JVC introduces SxS to professional camera range and shows off prototype of a small professional camera using SD cards

At IBC 2008 the surprise announcement from JVC was that they plan to use SxS as the storage format for the their professional range of camcorders. SxS, already established by Sony with their XDCAM range, is now available in 8, 16 and 32GB cards. Semir Nouri, Product Manager for JVC Europe had this to say: "We looked at available solutions in the market and we think that SxS is one of the best solutions if not the best in the market today. It's a modern interface based on PCI express and that guarantees a very high speed. It's a very robust yet small media that can withstand the daily activities of use for ENG work environment or in an environment when you have a lot of shooting and you travel a lot with your camera."
