PMW-EX3

Announced at NAB 2008 the PMW-EX3 XDCAM EX camcorder has caught the imaginations of videographers throughout this world. The latest addition to the XDCAM EX family sees Sony selling more more than 6000 XDCAM EX devices in the EMEA region since the format was released.

EX3withoutlens

The PMW-EX3 features interchangeable lenses, timecode and genlock, and has been described as "everything the EX1 should have been". This is a professional camera suitable for studio or ENG configuration, with SDI out allowing for a pure uncompressed HD stream.

In the field the camera records to SxS cards, now available in 8, 16 and 32GB capacities. A fully loaded PMW-EX1 or PMW-EX3, with 2 x 32GB SxS cards will provide for close to four hours continuous recording in HQ mode, and more than 5 hours in SQ mode.

BackCamera

SxS has been described as the fastest media on the planet. it is reliable, compact and designed to fit into the Express 34 slot on a MacBook Pro. SxS cards also have an auto-salvage function so that in the event of a power cut one does not lose their media. Everything is retained except for the last four seconds record prior to the power cut. Such an interruption could potentially corrupt other forms of media.

The PMW-EX30 is an SxS memory recorder which allows for multiple formats conversion, including SDI direct to SxS. This represents a very affordable SDI solution, able to provide high quality and convenience for those working with the

SxS format.
