Dedo Weigert, world-class cinematographer and inventor of the Dedo lighting system talks about how he began in the world of images and light, first in theatre before moving into film camerawork. Dedo's career extends over 5 decades. In 1990 the unique innovation of the Dedolight system was recognised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with a Technical Achievement Award.

The Dedo light has been referred to as the most innovative lightning system ever developed for motion picture and television. It is rugged, dimmable, can be dropped without destroying the lamp, has been designed so that it is focusable - allowing for a strong clean beam without stray light and is available in many different configurations. Furthermore, the Dedo lights can be powered from a variety of sources. These lights are very efficient providing strong light output without consuming tremendous wattage.

The Dedo lighting system offers tremendous versatility in that it is compact, built for travel and rugged treatment, and gives the user many options on how it can be configured. The fact a dimmer is built in and accessories can be fitted to add effects makes this light suitable for many different uses.
