Vaughan Smith: Return from Afghanistan
Back only a few days from Afghanistan, Vaughan Smith provides insight to what is going on in this country. Right at the front lines of the action we witness what the British troops deal with daily, fire fights, snipers, unexploded improvised devices, and a mission which, in Vaughan's words, makes this "a thinking man's war."
Vaughan Smith: Shooting with the JVC HM-100
To capture the footage in Afghanistan Vaughan chose the JVC GY-HM100. Key reasons are because it is light, provides high quality images, and is able to function in situations where larger cameras would have simply got in the way. Vaughan's talks about his opinion of the camera, its strengths and limitations.
Vaughan runs the The Frontline Club - a media club near London's Paddington Station. It has a strong emphasis on conflict reporting and aims to promote independent journalism.
