Interview with Derk Hagedorn - Euphonix

Director of Worldwide Channel Marketing explains the product range

Derk Hagedorn - Director of Worldwide Channel Marketing, Euphonix

Euphonix are relatively new new players in providing control surfaces for video editors. As a result of over 20 years in the business of making high-end audio equipment, and also a solid collaboration with Apple, Euphonix have produced a range of products which suit the video professional, post-house, or any place which wants to provide maximum interaction between the editor and the hardware.

The limitations of the keyboard and mouse are obvious to any editor who worked in a traditional editing suite. Hands-on faders, jog/shuttle control, programmable buttons - these are professional interfaces which professional editors are used to. Once one has a room set up for editing, with interfaces in place, the editor can then efficiently and quickly perform key functions with the minimum of hassle.

Euphonix produce key products for video editors including: MC Control - a high-end pro console in a ergonomic, slim-line design; MC Mix - Provides 8 faders to mix your audio direct in Final Cut Pro or Soundtrack Pro; MC Transport - ultra-high resolution jog wheel and shuttle ring, ergonomic transport controls and programmable Soft Keys; MC Color - offers precise control and integration with Apple's Color 1.5, providing colorists with high-resolution trackballs, trackwheels, touch-sensitive encoders and a host of programmable keys.

In the above interview Derk Hagedorn, Director of Worldwide Channel Marketing at Euphonix, talks about the product range and the philosophy by which Euphonix provide solutions for the video editors.
