Rumour: Pegatron to produce Apple iPhone 4G
Company would join Foxconn in producing the iPhone
Apple has reportedly signed a new manufacturer to produce the next version of the iPhone, expected to be released this summer.
Pegatron, a Taiwan-based DMS (Design and Manufacturing Service) company with extensive experience in product development and vertically integrated capabilities, has been selected by Apple according to DigiTimes, citing the usual "industry sources."
Pegatron declined to comment, but did confirm it had won the rights to produce Microsoft's Natal Xbox 360 controller later this year.
If the rumour proves true, Pegatron will join Foxconn, another Taiwan based technology manufacturer, in producing the iPhone.
Recent iPhone 4G rumours have included a bigger iPad inspired screen, OLED display, removable battery and the addition of video conferencing.
Apple's CEO Steve Jobs reportedly told staff last week at a rare Town Hall style meet-up that the next iPhone would be a "A+ update."
