MacVideo Expo, October 18, 2011 is shaping up to be a jam-packed event, kicking off at 4pm with a one hour demonstration Getting to Grip with Final Cut Pro X by Rick Young;followed by Exhibitor Showcase, buffet meal, and the main show kicks off at 6.30pm.
Guest speaker Philip Bloom

DP, Director and Filmmaker Philip Bloom, will talk about how he decides which camera is most appropriate for different shooting situations. Philip will discuss and show footage shot with several different cameras, including the Panasonic AF101; Sony NEX-FS100; Sony PMW-F3; and Red Epic.
Other presentations to include: G-Tech Thunderbolt Technology; Adobe Premiere Pro for Final Cut Pro switchers; Telestream workflows for post using Episode 6; Blackmagic vision mixer technology and an in-depth panel discussion: The state of Post-Production on the Mac.
Featured in the panel discussion is Barry Stevens - the man who edited Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody; he cut the Monty Python Pilot in 1969, which was then used as the first episode; Barry edited "200 Motels" in 12 days with Frank Zappa; and many Dr Who episodes, including "Dinosaurs in London" circa 1973. 7.00pm Simon Walker presents Grading in Premiere Pro. Apple Certified Master Trainer and Adobe Certified Instructor Simon Walker www.simonwalkerfreelance.com has been migrating from grading in FCP7 and Color, to using the tools in Adobe's Production Premium to colour correct and grade footage. In this session he'll be sharing some of the processes he found useful, how plug-ins help him work faster, and will be showing some tips to get up to speed more quickly in Premiere Pro

7.30pm Blackmagic Design: Philippe Baudet, FCP editor for 10 years and one of Europe's first Apple Solution's Expert Video, will bridge the gap between post-production and live event production. He will discuss his journey from being a FCP editor in post-production, to now being one of the biggest systems integrators in Luxembourg - building OB trucks and vans with Mac and Blackmagic Design's ATEM production switchers for some of the biggest broadcasters and music acts in Europe. The latest live event solutions in the ATEM production switcher line from Blackmagic Design will also be demonstrated at the show.

8.45pm Telestream - Advanced distributed transcoding workflows for post using Episode 6. Telestream product specialist Johan Skaneby will discuss important features in Episode multiformat encoding software.
