I just read Rick Young’s February 2007 article - Creating HI-DEF DVD’s and found it to be the best explanation for creating HD DVDs that I have ever read. I do have a few questions that I hope someone will be good enough to answer.

1. Can the same process be followed using Final Cut Express instead of Final Cut Pro? In Final Cut Express I did not see a Compressor option. Is Compressor a stand alone application that can be purchased? I would like to avoid having to buy Final Cut Pro since I an very familiar with Final Cut Express.

2. Can you burn the DVD out of IDVD or do you Need DVD Studio Pro? If you cannot use IDVD is Roxio’s Toast application an acceptable substitute?

3. Do you need a special burner or is the burner on the MAC acceptable?

4. Finally, will a 2 layer DVD allow you to create a longer movie? If so, are there any special additional instructions that need to be followed? How do manufactures produce DVDs that contain so much data - i.e. full length movies?

Wallackb,

If you download video from youtube and facebook, etc. try aneesoft video converter.
It works good for me. I download video from different websites and aneesoft works very well.
It converts video to WMV and AVI, and other formats. And it converts audio also to
WMA, WAV, MP3, etc. There is an option I like, 'surf and catch video'.
