Hi all
Im looking for some advice on building an edit system to edit a documentary for a client im working for.
He has a few quid to spent, he was going to go to a company who custom build the system for you i.e. they hook up the monitors install the software and charge an extra two grand for their trouble.
Well he wants to do the same thing now, except he wants a system that can handle all the different formats from dv to digi to hd so rather than be ripped off we will build it ourselves.
Anyway the project was shot primarily on digibeta.
first of all i will be using A new mac pro machine with fcp 5, what im not sure of is the other hardware which i need to get i.e. ive heard decklink is good and can i use firewire drives to store the data or do i need to get scis any advice would be appreciated.
